Materials

The materials used in Tapp Water filters underline a commitment to sustainability, quality and durability:

• The pitcher body is made of borosilicate glass.

• The lid is made of ABS and PC plastic manufactured from natural materials and free of toxins like BPA and phthalates. The pitcher also includes a silicone component that holds the parts in place. This component decomposes in amorphous silica, carbon dioxide and water.

• Air tube to improve water flow.

• The replacement cartridge is made of organic carbon fibre that biodegrades in CO2, water and UHMW (30%) and is inert, stable and doesn’t build up in marine life.

The replacement cartridge’s plastic covering is also free of toxins like BPA and phthalates.

Will it fit in my fridge?

Standard European fridge bottle shelf depth is around 110 mm, though it can vary between 100 mm and 120 mm. PitcherPro measures approximately 108 mm x 112 mm. The standard Brita pitcher is 110 mm wide.

How do I change the cartridge?

Remove the lid and unscrew the cartridge from it. Insert the replacement cartridge and screw it into place. Fill the pitcher with water and pour a little out before first use.

Why is the water flow slow and the filtered water cloudy at first?

As soon as you fill the pitcher with tap water you’ll be able to start drinking it thanks to the air tube that enhances filtering and eliminates waiting time. It filters while you’re pouring your glass of water!

We advise you to filter the water 2-3 times before using the jug for the first time to clean the refill.

PitcherPro filters instantly, which means that as you pour the water into your glass the pitcher removes all the unwanted substances. This process slows the flow of water from the pitcher. The flow rate can also vary depending on the amount of water and vacuum in the pitcher. If the flow rate diminishes, gently shake the pitcher or remove and replace the lid.

The water after filtering may be a little cloudy at first due to alkaline minerals. In several filters the water will be transparent again.

Why does increasing water alkalinity make it taste better?

The replacement cartridge contains alkaline beads. These contain alkaline minerals that raise the water’s pH level (to between 0.5 and 1) and convert its oxide into an antioxidant (ORP). The more negative the ORP value, the more antioxidant the water and, therefore, the less it tastes of oxides.

Why is it good to increase the alkalinity of water so that it tastes good?

The refill contains alkaline balls. In turn, these balls contain alkaline minerals that increase the pH (between 0.5 and 1) and the oxide in the water acts as an antioxidant (ORP). The more negative the ORP value, the more antioxidant the water will be and therefore the less rusty taste it will have.

What makes the PitcherPro replacement cartridges eco-friendly?

Because after use, they can be recycled like this:

1. Open the replacement cartridge and remove the carbon fibre from the plastic covering.

2. All the plastic should go in the plastics bin and the carbon fibre in the organics bin.
